Infinity Bridesmaid Dresses...love 'em!

[Our bridesmaid dresses are a royal purple.]

Bridesmaid L suggested I check out these gems and I was so thankful she did. She had found them on Etsy. They were exactly what I had envisioned for my girls! They can be worn again for many different types of occasions. Since I'm not a bride with a budget that includes paying for bridesmaid dresses or even being able to pitch in for the cost I wanted to be sure they were affordable and not a one day wear. It's even more exciting that they're flattering! My girls are going to look beautiful!

Our Photographer- Yaritza Colón

[Photo of two of my dear friends taken by Yaritza on their wedding day!]
Originally, Stu & I had decided not to hire a professional photographer, I was going to have a friend from high school take the photos for practically nothing. That all changed when Stu took a look at K & L's wedding album. He immediately asked L questions about the photographer and the pricing and the two of them brought the idea up to me. What could I say, it was the first time my husband to be showed a genuine interest in a part of the wedding planning...how could I turn his idea down?  I agreed to meet with her and boy am I glad I did! She is a great person and an amazing photographer! To top it all off.....SHE LOVES WEDDINGS! How could you NOT hire a photographer who genuinely LOVES weddings!

Our Caterer-B&M Catering

Stu and I, along with my parents, met up with Mickey Doherty from B& M for our tasting about a month ago. Mickey  was a very gracious host and fed us a lot of delicious food from the menu Stu and I chose to taste from. B&M have many menus to choose from and also many options that can be used as substitutions in any menu. They are very flexible with their clients and that was one of the things I was looking for when researching caterers. We wanted our guests to have options, a variety of different foods was the route we wanted to go...not just a choice between chicken/beef or fish/chicken.

Here are the delicious food options on our buffet line:

- Cherry Bomb Salad with Italian and Ranch dressing-
- Corn Bread & Butter-

- Teriyaki Chicken & Pineapple-

- Mojo Chicken-

- Swordfish-

- BBQ Steak Tips-

- Grilled Vegetable Medley-

- Red Roast Potatoes-

- Tri-colored pasta with pesto-
No one will go home hungry. There is something for everyone and they were more than happy to cater to the needs of our Gluten Free guests!

Here's a little bit of history behind B&M:

Brothers Brian and Mickey Doherty began catering clambakes for family and friends on the South Shore of Boston, over twenty years ago. The chowder would be made the night before, and first thing in the morning they would take Mickey's pick-up to the docks for fresh lobster and steamers. After a quick stop at a produce stand, just outside Quincy Market, for sweet corn and potatoes, they would head to the beach and begin preparing the bake.
Soon, requests for their clambakes began coming in from friends and strangers alike. Over the years they expanded their repertoire to include Pig Roasts, Luaus and Barbecues. They quit their day jobs, and the rest is history.
Today, known as the B&M Clambake Company, Brian, Mickey and their crews travel from the coast of Maine to the Gulf of Mexico catering intimate family gatherings and corporate events for thousands.

Our Venue-Kinney Bungalow

The Kinney Bungalow was built 1899 by Francis S. Kinney, a tobacco and real estate millionaire, in
order to host parties, especially following polo matches. Its design is strongly influenced by East Indian
style, perhaps a taste he acquired from his younger years as a sailor.

He and Abbot Kinney, his younger brother, had founded Kinney Brothers Tobacco Company, one
of the leading cigarette manufacturers in the late nineteenth century. Eventually they merged their
company with others into the "tobacco trust" organized by James Buchanan Duke (father of the late
Newport heiress and socialite, Doris Duke). Before it was broken up by government anti-trust laws,
the American Tobacco Company had more than ninety percent of the the U.S. market. Abbot Kinney
had fallen in love with Venice, Italy in his youth, so he went on to found Venice, California as a resort
and amusement center. Francis Kinney invested in real estate and also got involved in polo matches in
Narragansett.

Following Kinney's death, the Kinney Bungalow was purchased by the Chase/Ewing family. It was the
site of numerous dances, parties, and celebrations. Lucia Chase Ewing, co-founder of the American
Ballet Theater, brought the troupe to Narragansett where the Bungalow served as their summer
rehearsal site.

In 1991 the Bungalow, along with historic Sunset Farm, was acquired by the Town of Narragansett.
The property (Kinney Bungalow and Sunset Farm) is managed by the Narragansett Land Conservancy
Trust. Following major restoration work, Kinney Bungalow was opened to the public in 2002.

Once again Kinney Bungalow is a favorite site for weddings, birthday and anniversary parties, lawn
parties, dances, concerts, ice cream socials, ballet classes, public lectures, and happy gatherings for
many occasions.
